Individually, they’re beautiful. Together, they’re unforgettable. Reclaimed wood paneling and box beamscombine into what might be the single most impactful ceiling you can build — a fully clad, timber-crossed expanse of authentic old-growth wood that turns an ordinary room into the kind of space people stop and look up in. It’s the ceiling you see in high-end lake homes, timber-frame great rooms, and Parade [...]
Few details transform a room like a ceiling full of character, and reclaimed wood box beams are the fastest way to get there. A box beam gives you the look of a massive, hand-hewn timber overhead — the warmth, the patina, the century-old story — without the weight, cost, or structural headache of a solid beam. That’s why builders, architects, designers, and homeowners reach [...]
Reclaimed wood vs engineered wood flooring is one of the biggest decisions homeowners and custom builders make when they want the look of real wood underfoot. The short answer: engineered wood flooring is cheaper up front and handles moisture well, but reclaimed solid wood wins where it matters most over the life of a home — durability, refinishing, and character. At Manomin Resawn Timbers, [...]
Every so often a project comes along that reminds you why you fell in love with reclaimed wood in the first place. “Hand Hewn” is one of those. Set on a quiet lake in Minnesota, it’s a barnhouse that walks the line between past and present — Minnesota vernacular farmstead meets a little western swagger, comfortable and elegant all at once. The main house, [...]
Reclaimed wood has quietly become one of the most sought-after materials in Minnesota building and design. Walk through a Parade of Homes model in the Twin Cities, a lake home on Gull or Minnetonka, or a boutique hotel lobby in Minneapolis, and you’ll almost always find it: hand-hewn box beams overhead, wide-plank antique floors underfoot, a fireplace mantel milled from a barn that stood [...]
When you search for reclaimed wood flooring for sale, you're really looking for two things: real, honest wood, and a company you can trust to deliver it. At Manomin Resawn Timbers, that's what we've been doing for twenty years. We're not a reseller or an online catalog — we reclaim the wood, mill it ourselves, and sell it directly to homeowners, builders, and remodelers. [...]
If you want a floor with real presence, wide plank reclaimed wood flooring is hard to beat. Wide boards show off the grain, color, and history of antique wood far better than narrow strips can, and because the wood is reclaimed old-growth, you get that look with genuine durability behind it. Here's what wide plank actually means, why reclaimed wood is the right material [...]
There's a particular hush that falls over a room the first time someone steps onto a reclaimed wood floor. They slow down. They look at their feet. Sometimes they crouch to run a hand across a board that was milled from a beam that stood in a Minnesota barn through a hundred winters. That reaction — part recognition, part wonder — is the whole [...]
A new lakeside home in northern Minnesota where reclaimed Antique White Oak, Elm, and Oak warm every room. The Interlachen Modern Lakehouse — a new build on the wooded shoreline of Gull Lake near Lake Shore, Minnesota. Every so often a home comes along that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. The Interlachen Modern Lakehouse is one of them. Set on [...]
The fireplace is the one feature every eye in the room returns to. It sets the tone of the entire space, not just literally but emotionally. It is where the furniture turns to face, where people gather, and where the eye lands the moment you walk in. When a living room feels flat or dated, the fireplace is almost always the highest-impact place to [...]
Reclaimed wood has moved from a niche accent to a headline feature on Minnesota’s most competitive builds. Walk any Fall Parade of Homes route — Lake Minnetonka’s west metro, the wooded lots of Medina and Orono, the bluffs above the St. Croix — and the models drawing the longest lines share the same DNA: hand-hewn box beams overhead, wide-plank antique floors underfoot, a mantel [...]
For a remodeler, reclaimed wood is rarely a blank-canvas decision. You’re working inside a home that already has a character — a 1920s Kenwood four-square with quartersawn oak trim, a South Minneapolis bungalow with fir floors that need to flow into a new addition, or a North Shore cabin where the client wants the great room to feel like it’s always been there. The [...]
