The Owners Story: Lands End Development
Fourth-generation builders, Matt and Jeff Balmer, have worked and lived in the residential construction industry for most of their lives. “In fact, some of their earliest memories are playing in sand piles at job sites while Mom and Dad were meeting with clients or doing a final clean-up.” In college, the brothers chose to take a different approach to working with their hands and started manufacturing custom rustic furniture and architectural home details. Running this company taught them that quality, creativity, value, and service are all an integral and core part of any successful company. These four values now define their company and who they are.

There really is no ideal customer for Lands End Development. They pride themselves on catering to every size home and budget, and they understand that all circumstances are different. Providing their customers with the home they’ve always dreamed of is the most important part of their business.
Lands End Development is extremely proud of the homes that they’ve built, so let’s take a look at a few of them!
Homes to Check Out
Crosslake 2
This beautiful cabin feeling home has all of the qualities that we love at Manomin. Built with a beautiful rustic look, this home is truly beautiful. Wood floors and wood-paneled ceilings make for amazing focal points within the home. Large wood beams, stone, and metalwork come together to give this home a warm, but still rustic feel. The outdoor patio and fireplace, along with the exterior landscaping and siding make this project as jaw-dropping on the outside as it is on the inside.
Pig Bay 2
If you were to drive up to this home, you’d be awestruck. The photos truly can’t do it justice. Large wood beams with a dark stain draw your attention to the front door. Upon stepping inside, you’ll notice an eye-catching kitchen with natural wood cabinets, wood panel ceilings, and gorgeous stonework. A stone kitchen table, huge backyard windows, and indoor stone fireplace all add to the amazing design that went into this project. There are just too many good things to talk about with this one. Be sure to give the pictures a look!
Lower Whitefish Lake 5
A truly timeless home located on lower whitefish lake. The wood elements in this home make it incredibly appealing yet diverse in the artistic approach to each room. Some key elements include a fully wood booth in a natural finish, a large open kitchen with exposed wood beams, and several entertainment centers, including some bunk beds. The exterior is equally as beautiful and definitely draws from some colonial-style homes.
Gull Lake 2
Drawing from a more modern approach is this beautiful lake home. The open floor plan with large windows highlights the most amazing wood floor. Key features in this home are the bathrooms with great looking shiplap on the walls and a free-standing bathtub. Exposed wood beams are a focal point in the porch area, and the wood siding really makes the exterior pop!
